Cal is hiring safety ambassadors!

Great news, SafeBears! UC Berkeley is hiring student Safety Ambassadors to staff the entrances of all the residence halls from 9 PM to 1 AM every day of the week, with slightly longer hours on Fridays and Saturdays.

Formerly known as “security monitors", Residential Safety Ambassadors (RSAs) help keep students safe by being stationed inside the entrances into the residence halls and reporting dangerous & suspicious behavior to staff and UCPD.

Getting full coverage in the residence hall entrances has been a priority for SafeBears since many of these buildings have been accessed by intruders. RSAs create a safe, welcoming environment for residents;— they report any unsafe situations to staff and/or UC Police so they can respond as needed.

RSAs are a vital part to making Cal residence halls safe, and we are thrilled to see the University prioritizing the filling of these positions.

Help us fill these positions! If your Bear is looking for a part-time job that helps people feel safer and deepens the feeling of community among students, share this link with them and encourage them to become a RSA!
