San Francisco Assistant DA Butch Ford spoke with SafeBears in June 2023 to explain why crime is going up in cities including Berkeley. Butch handled numerous high-profile cases affecting Berkeley residents and had a front-row seat to the many dramatic changes that took place in the way criminals are sentenced by the new District Attorney.
